In the course of the third workshop, in Martin/Vrútky, Slovakia, the partners visited the Conservation and Digitalization Centre of the Slovak National Library in Vrútky.

There, they got acquainted with the work of the Department of Document Restoration and Conservation, the Document Preparation Division and the Digitalization Centre. They could also learn about what protocol they follow in SNK before digitizing documents and books (assessment, mechanical cleaning, conservation/restoration, etc.).

During the visit to the Digitalization Centre, they discussed the importance of choosing the suitable method and scanner for different types of books in order to prevent any further damage to them.

The partners also dealt with questions concerning the finalisation of the five-language dictionary, and what form is to be used in presenting it; Finally, they discussed the draft of the common English Emergency Protocol, which will be the second product of the project.
