Budapest

12-14 October 2021

The first workshop focused primarily on the five-language restorer dictionary that will be one of the products of ‘The Written Visegrad Heritage – Protection for the Future’ project. Besides Czech, Hungarian, Polish and Slovak – the native languages of the partners -, English is the fifth language as the ‘lingua franca’ for the Visegrad countries. When finished, the dictionary can be used as a reference point for future studies, publications and cooperation.

Within the framework of this workshop BCA organised an Open Day at Budapest City Archives (13th October 2021), where the project partners presented their institutions and their work to their Hungarian colleagues and visitors who participated in the programmes of the Open Day. After the presentations they visited the restorer workshops of the Archives where they could discuss challenges that archival and library restorers face with in the 21st century.
